ELI students can participate in many activities. The Cultural Immersion Program (CIP) arranges activities every afternoon like sports, movies, museums, and coffee talk. Each weekend there is a different activity you can do! Picnics, swimming and tubing on the rivers or springs, Disney, Busch Gardens, NASA Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, Cedar Key, and of course Florida's beautiful beaches! The CIP will also help you arrange to have a conversation partner. These people are UF students or Gainesville citizens. The CIP also helps you find places in Gainesville to volunteer. Volunteering is a very important part of American life. You can also do so at a homeless shelter St. Francis House, with elderly folks at North Florida Rehabilitation Center or The Bolton Center, or with animals at Jungle Friends or The Humane Society.
