With more than fifty years of educational experience, Dallas Christian College (DCC) continues to prepare servant leaders for positions in their church, their community, and the world. Former missionary Vernon Newland met with church leadership to discuss details surrounding the founding of an institution that would train leaders for ministry. It was the identification a great need for leadership in churches across Texas that the founders envisioned Dallas Christian College. Over the years, this vision has grown to include two locations in Dallas's city center in addition to a campus in the historic northwest Dallas County vicinity of Farmers Branch. As the College continues to expand, faculty and staff continue to strive to provide guidance for students in their quest to discover the God-given talents and gifts that they can then apply in service to the Lord. Grounded in the teachings of the Bible, the Christ-centered curriculum of DCC focuses on spiritual matters and unity amongst all Christians.
The passion of Dallas Christian College is to educate and mentor students "to be people of influence, under God's influence, for a life of influence." With this in mind, academic programs prepare students to be influential leaders in various settings, including ministry, business, and education. Biblical studies coupled with general education and specialized or professional studies are at the core of the DCC curriculum. Programs are further augmented through Christian service and chapel time. In addition to learning opportunities on campus, students serve in volunteer and internship capacities throughout the area in churches and as part of various ministry teams. The College is accredited to award Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees in various disciplines. These academic disciplines can be found within the divisions of Bible, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, and Education. Students may also take advantage of degree programs available online and through Quest and evening degree options. DCC Online offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Ministry and Leadership. The Quest program offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Ministry and Leadership and Management and Ethics, and an A.A.S. in Business. Upon graduation, graduates of Dallas Christian College go on to serve in various positions throughout the nation and the world.
