Bridgewater College has led the way for more than 125 years developing leaders in fields such as business, industry, medicine, law, communications and education. Bridgewater was founded in 1880 as the first coeducational college in Virginia and has had its character shaped by two major influencesthe University of Virginia and the Church of the Brethren, with which Bridgewater is affiliated.
