Great Time in Lynchburg

HI everyone...Im back with some more news.. Exams are finially over for the first semester and new classes start on Tuesday. Of course I only had to take one exam but i really had to study hard for it (Spanish exam). I was so glad it was over, now at that point I could focus on the weekend and my trip to Lynchburg so i could tour Lynchburg College.

That was an unforgettable trip. I loved the school and the tours.. The only bad thing about the trip is that early on that day, it was sorta really cold but other than that it was a great experience. It started off in the main hall where they gave us an introduction about the school. We then took a tour of the school and different buildings that were located on campus. Later on that day we got to go to an academic session for the major of our choice. I must say that was such a great and funny experience. We chated with the Dean of the School and she now calls me by my nickname "BOS". I think that is what really brought it down to me selecting schools. Just the interaction that we had was such a good experience. Not to mention the fact that I could see the Applacian Mountains in the Background.

At the later part of the day, i chatted with a local college student and got some great advice. I told them im coming up there for some partyies. I got a chance to talk to some staff students from the New Horizons program which is outdoor adventure program..That was sucha great conversation..

All in All i can say that Lynchburg is definitly on my list.

Moving Forward at Full Speed

Well we are finally back at school and moving in full force. The first semester is almost over which means that I have exams in about 3 weeks. I have got to get prepared for those and pass them and get my GPA up. On top of that, it's the same weekend that I have to go visit Lynchburg College and George Mason University.

I'm still waiting on some colleges to reply to me on their decision to let me attend the school. It is so nerve reckoning. I still have to send off the James Madison University and Virginia Commonwealth University applications. I hope that I do get into James Madison because I have been to that area before and have heard good reviews about the school so it seems like a very nice school to attend. Oh I hope that the schools that I hope to attend will give me a chance to prove myself. (It's so stressful right now, that I feel like I would like to cry.)

So far I have talked to an admissions counselor from Lynchburg and she makes the school seem really interesting, but it is time for me to check the school out for myself and I will be the judge on just how good the school is. I do have a backup and that is if I do not get into the school that I would like to, I will attend Richard Bland College of William and Mary. I will go there for 2 years and then transfer to the school of my choice.

Oh I hope this all works out for the best...Ill let you know what goes on in the next few days.

Application Anxiety

Hi my names Brandon. I am very much in the middle of sending off college applications and it is making me so nervous. I am now just thinking about staying here in Virginia since we have really good schools here. I sent of applications to George Mason, Lynchburg college (which i got accepted) YAY, James Madison, and U of R and American. OH this is so stressful, and on top of that, i have to keep up my grades. A few of my friends recieved their acceptance letters and i was very happy for them but i am so nervous that i might not get admitted to the schools of my top choice (U of R or American.)

UHHH i didnt think the senior year would be so stressful. I am however going to visit Lynchburg college and George Mason next month so we will see.

Brandon
My name is Brandon or Boz and I am a senior at Dinwiddie Senior High school. I am basically a traveling freak which leads to me wanting to major in International Relations. I am an army brat so I basically have no roots in just any one state. I am currently involved with Habitat for Hummanity, Ruriteen Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Students on Developing Atitudes (SODA), and Athletes Coaching Teens (ACT). Living in the middle of nowhere, joining a school club is the way to occupy your time besides working at the Fort Lee Commissary.

As a senior I am definitely in the middle of the panic to turn applications in, but I am confident that I will succeed in what I want to do in life, thanks to my determination.
