Bloomfield College, founded in 1868, is nestled in the historic district of downtown Bloomfield, New Jersey. The College’s mission focuses on developing the whole student to become a well-rounded, learned, and productive member of a global society. The mission, to prepare students to attain academic, personal and professional excellence in a multicultural and global society, is evident in all academics and activities in the college.
The college has chosen to remain small in order to continuously foster close relationships between the faculty, staff, and students. A hallmark of Bloomfield College’s reputation is the attention to the individual student; from helping a student find the perfect internship, preparing a student for graduate school, or supporting a student with learning difficulties, Bloomfield College offers personal and small group methods to ensure students’ success in life.
Examples of student achievements range from securing prestigious internships, to induction into national honor societies, to participating in extracurricular activities designed to increase knowledge about their majors.
Whether a student is planning to go right into the workforce upon graduation, or continue their education at a graduate level, Bloomfield College’s liberal arts program offers a foundation of learning for either choice. With ten bachelor of arts degrees, ten bachelor of science degrees, six certificate programs, four non-degree programs, and preparations for pre-chiropractic, pre-veterinary, and pre-law studies, Bloomfield College concentrates on ensuring student success after graduation. Bloomfield College also has agreements with several Korean colleges and universities for exchange programs as well as membership in the College Consortium for International Studies, which allows qualified students to explore the world and earn credits.
For the non-traditional learner, Bloomfield College offers evening and weekend courses for a complete baccalaureate degree and several certificate programs. Alternative credit programs such as advanced placement (AP), college level examination program (CLEP), independent study, and learning assessment are available as well.
Financial aid is available to qualified students. Campus tours are scheduled for every Wednesday at 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM; and every Saturday at 10:30 AM.
